About this event

Have you been thinking about trying out bike packing / touring but don't know where to start?

This ride provides an introduction to bike packing or touring where you can ride the iconic Northern Rivers Rail Trail from Crabbes Creek to Murwillimbah, fuel up for with a coffee or even more then head to Tyalgum for an overnight stay.

Accommodation
There is plenty of camping available but for those wish to lighten the load further there are options for other accommodation (e.g Tyalgum Hotel). Options for accommodation can be found at this accommodation options link

If you are camping, I have arranged with the Showgrounds Caretaker for a set rate of $10 @head (cash) which will be collected when you arrive. We will camp on the grassed area all around the camp kitchen.
You can alternatively arrange to stay at the pub or elsewhere. if so, you need to book and pay for this yourself.

We meet meet for dinner that night, probably at the Tyalgum Hotel to share our stories about the ride, ask any questions and prepare ourselves for the return journey back to Crabbes Creek.

What sort of bike is suitable?

The ride can be completed with a gravel, mountain or hybrid bike.  You will need to carry your own gear.

What do I bring?

An information night will be held on the night of March 17 to provide an overview of bike packing / touring and discuss what to bring.  You can find detail of the event here .

Start Location

The start will be outside the General Store in Crabbes Creek, 24 -28 Crabbes Creek Road, Crabbes Creek. NSW.
