BBTA Community on WhatsApp – our ride communicator

The BBTA committee has setup a WhatsApp community to use for communicating about our rides.
We plan to use it for updates when posting a message on the calendar won’t do the job, e.g. urgent change of start location due to say flooding, coffee stop is closed so here is the alternative, sharing photos etc. You can also share you location with others on the ride so everyone knows everyone is safe – this will be great for rides out in the country and coordinating regroups when the ride breaks up.
Our calendar will still be the place to find out about a ride.
Within the community we have different chat groups for our regular rides and when the ride leader wants, a chat group for special / week end / multi day rides.
You can join the community and any of the chat groups for rides you are interested in by clicking any of the following links

We ask that everyone joins the General group for messages about the club as a whole, eg AGM, social events, etc.
You can also talk to / email someone on the committee and ask them to add you in to any of these groups.
You can mute notifications so you’re not disturbed and leave or rejoin any of the chat groups in our community whenever you want.
WhatsApp is a free app used my many people all over the world to send messages and make calls for free. Messages can be sent to an individual or to a group like ours. You need to have it installed on your phone. If you haven’t got it, go to your app store and search for WhatsApp. If you aren’t sure how to use it feel free to ask the committee or maybe someone you know who is already on it.
