What's ON in June

Beautiful rain but not for biking,..so planning is the go.

We are really keen to see our Club Route Library expand further. It sits with 113 rides in there atm with only a handful of members contributing so far,...

There are some fabulous rides to view and download in and around Brisbane. Here are the links to see some of them,..

Firstly, Rides around Brisbane

Secondary, Rides Outside Brisbane

You can view the routes there and download them into your GPS cycle computer or use the free Ride with GPS phone app.

To access the full route library you need an account with www.ridewithgps.com – their free account is fine. After setting up the account, you join the library by clicking on the following auto approve link

Now several members have sent their fab rides into us via admin@bbta.org

Remember the Club Promotion,...the first five members to do so with two pics on the route and a brief summary win a 99 Bikes $50 voucher. Well we have two lucky members so far and are looking for just 3 more members who would like $50,..obviously not causing the stampede we had hoped for,..

To send us your routes just email admin@bbta.org with links, photos and descriptions. The links can be to a Strava ride you have done or something in any of the ride / route planning sites like Ride with GPS, Map My Ride, Garmin Connect, Kamoot , Strava ec.

Oh,...the two winners so far are Lawrence Ferrari from Tambourine and Vicky McKain from Byron Bay.

So,...please consider as we really do want your favourite ride to sit in the Club Library.

Well this month sees two special one day rides and also Peter Brennan's Noosa Supported ride down for this coming weekend. Even though we are past the closing date there are a couple of rooms still available so it isn’t too late to register for the Ride. It will be a top weekend,..it always is,.. 26 riders registered for this one. Let's hope the weather is beautiful one day and perfect the next,...

So Iain Moore has a day out on the Northern Rivers Rail Trail for Sunday 15th starting at the Murwillumbah train station at 9 am. There are two interesting variations with lunch at the Mooball Hotel and a side excursion to the Margaret Olley Regional Gallery.

Then on Sunday 29th Margaret Calley has a beaut little ride up the BVRT from Wulkuraka train station at 8.30 am bound for the Country Markets at Ferndale. Should be a fabulous day out. Please Consider.

The regular rides are on the Calendar to see. These include Aileen Franklin's Bayside Breeze on Sunday mornings the 8th and 22nd leaving Lota train Station at 8.40 am. Please Consider.

Then every Sunday John Stevens has his 2 Points from Gumdale ride leaving Eastside Village Shopping Centre at 7 am. Iain Moore has his Saturday Arvo ride leaving the Windsor train station at 3 pm for a 20 km discovery of surrounding suburbs incl the airport DFO. Please Consider.

Oh I forgot to mention Iain Moore has, weather permitting, his Brunch Sandgate ride tomorrow at 7.30 am from Kalinga Park.

The weekday rides are the Tuesday Alt. Oasis to Sandgate, Thursdays Coffee at the Beach ride and The Redcliffe Run each leaving the Nundah Crit track at 7 am, 7.30 am and 7 am respectively.

One more item. Peter Damm will send out a Club email this week with all the info you will need to participate in our Club Chat forum via WhatsApp. This medium has worked very well for many individual club rides as in Stanthorpe and the recent BVRT rides. We will have a Club Wide Community Group where we can chat across the whole club as well. So, please look our for that in a few days,....

Well that's it for now,..

Go Well,..Be Safe,...Have FUN,

The BBTA Team
