Granite and Grapes Weekend Tour 28/11/09 - 2009-07-27
Start Stanthorpe L - Leisurely pace, lively conversation Gradient : 3 - Moderate hills (half of day 1 is dirt) A ride along quiet roads, around the granite boulder landscape, national parks, wineries and orchards of Stanthorpe. Saturday (71km) we head east out of Stanthorpe into NSW for morning tea at Undercliffe Falls. Lunch by Storm King Dam and we spend the night camping in Girraween National Park. Sunday (51km) we ride around orchards and wineries and along the scenic Severn River. Morning tea at a café in Ballandean before heading back to Stanthorpe for Lunch. The unsealed roads are hard packed granite sand, mostly in good condition when we checked out the rout but not suitable for road bikes. Hybrids, touring bikes and mountain bikes OK. Map Peter Damm

Port Drive, Fisherman Islands - 2009-03-31
We have been advised that Port Drive is going to be closed to cyclists, initially for road works, and thereafter, forever. Originally this was to have been from April, but has now been extended to mid-year. Here is a Brochure about the road works.
